CRAWLEY TOWN FC: CLUB STATEMENT

Crawley Town have announced that John Gregory will stand down from his position as manager at the club with former Doncaster Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Dean Saunders replacing him on an interim basis.

DONCASTER ROVERS: NEW DEAL ON TABLE FOR SHARP

After the news this week that they had accepted a bid for his services from Leicester City, Doncaster Rovers have today offered striker Billy Sharp a new contract.

In an interview with BBC Radio Sheffield following their defeat to Notts County at the weekend, manager Dean Saunders revealed the club had agreed a few with the Foxes and that Sharp was due for talks with Nigel Pearson's men.

In a post on Rovers' official Twitter page today news of the contract offer filtered through, "We are going to offer Billy Sharp a new contract which will be the best the club have ever offered."

The 25 year old has been Doncaster's main goal threat this season, notching ten in just eighteen appearances, he has scored fifteen in each of his previous two seasons with the South Yorkshire club.

It remains to be seen whether Sharp will a Rover come the end of January.

DONCASTER ROVERS: TRIO SIGN ON

Doncaster Rovers have continued their recent shopping spree by adding three new players to their ranks.

Habib Bamogo, Damien Plessis and Mamadou Bagayoko have all inked short term contracts with the South Yorkshire club.

Plessis, a 23 year old former French Under 21 midfielder, has joined Rovers on loan until the end of the current season from Greek side Panathinaikos. He has limited experience of the English leagues, having featured a handful of times for Liverpool as a youngster.

32 year old Bagayoko joins Doncaster as a free agent following his release from Greek side PAS Giannina. The forward lists OGC Nice, FC Nantes and AC Ajaccio amongst his former clubs.

The third and final addition, Bamogo is another striker, most recently with Panetolikos. The 29 year old has an impressive CV including stints with Marseille, Celta Vigo and 30 appearances for the Burkina Faso senior squad.

Speaking to Doncaster Rovers' official website manager Dean Saunders was confident that supporters would be impressed with the signings, "Fans will be excited when they see them play, they might not be 100% match fit as yet but we're strengthening all the time."
