Celtic's move for Craig Bellamy looks in doubt as the Manchester City striker's wages are proving a stumbling block for the SPL side.
The Welsh international who spent last season on loan at his boyhood club, Cardiff City does not feature in the plans of Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini and is wanted by Neil Lennon to front his attack this season. However Bellamy's wages are just too high for the Glasgow club, "We have been in a position to do deals and sometimes the circumstances are right just as the transfer window is beginning to close. But as things stand at the moment we wouldn't be able to do a deal with Craig Bellamy. I know Neil would love to have him at the club, we all would, but we cannot pay salaries of £70,000/£80,000. It's that simple and I think our fans understand that."
