21 year old Drinkwater has already played on loan at Huddersfield, Cardiff and Watford but is not content with playing in the reserves for the Premier League champions, "I don't know [about my future]. I have to speak to the gaffer. I'll maybe go back on loan to try and prove myself in the Championship and follow in some of the other lads' footsteps. There's a lot of centre midfield players at the club. They are all quality players so it is difficult to break through,"
