Former Darlington Chairman Raj Singh says he will write off any debts the Blue Square Premier side owes to him, providing a buyer is found for the club in the coming weeks.
The Quakers were placed into administration this week with Singh reporting that the club were making losses of around £700,000 a season.
In an interview with BBC Tees, Singh insisted his only wish was for the club to survive despite the mounting financial pressures.
"I'll walk away, I'm not expecting a penny back. I could make things difficult for the administrators but I won't."
Singh's comments follow those of current Quakers' manager Craig Liddle. He spoke to the same radio station and expressed his determination to remain at the club despite the current situation.
"It's not my nature to quit. I'll be here to the end. I told the lads, I'll probably be the one to put the lights out if that is the case."
"If we can come through it we can come out strong. We've just got to hope there's someone out there who can help us."

DARLINGTON FC: CLUB ENTER ADMINISTRATION
Blue Square Premier side Darlington have entered administration for the third time in recent years.
Following the news this afternoon the club have been handed an automatic ten point deduction in-keeping with Football League rules.
Chairman Raj Singh revealed the news to fans in a statement on the club's official website, "It is with huge regret that we've had to place the club into administration today."
"I for one certainly didn't envisage this when I took over the club back in August 2009," he continued.
Harvey Madden, joint administrator at the club discussed the challenges facing Darlington and explained how serious a situation they now find themselves in, "Every day is critical if the club is to survive."
"The position of the club is such that without any financial support from outside the club, or anyone willing to acquire the club, I will unfortunately have little alternative but to cease to trade in a very short time."
