MANSFIELD TOWN: STAGS LOSE DUO

Marcus Kelly and Aman Verma have left Mansfield Town and returned to their parent club Kettering Town amid a dispute over finances.

The duo were expected to agree permanent moves to the Stags this month but a disagreement over an apparent 'loan fee' has shelved the moves for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham Mansfield Town boss Paul Cox shed light on the situation, "There was no such thing as a loan fee from our point of view. We paid the wages over the period of the loan."

In response Kettering Town chairman Imraan Ladak said, "They [Mansfield Town] did not make the payment that they promised and as a result it left us with the shortfall."

Verman made five appearances for Stags since moving to the club on loan in October. Marcus Kelly made just one appearance.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST: HAREWOOD MAKES FOREST RETURN

Marlon Harewood has signed a short term deal with Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The 32 year old, most recently with Chinese side Guangzhou R&F, has agreed a four month contract at the club where he notched over fifty goals in 180 appearances.

Forest boss Steve Cotterill spoke to BBC Radio Nottingham about the surprise move, "He has been here now for six weeks [training] or so but we haven't been able to get him involved in a friendly."

"We are pleased to sort a deal."

Harewood started his career at Nottingham Forest, graduating through their youth set up to make his debut for the club in 1998. He signed for West Ham five years later before spells with Aston Villa, Blackpool, Barnsley, Newcastle and Wolves.
