FAN'S VIEW: CARLISLE UNITED SEASON PREVIEW

Carlisle United struggled last term, here we speak to Ryan about the club's prospects for the 15/16 campaign.

HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?

Last season was one of the worst for Carlisle United. At the start of the season we were hoping for an instant promotion back to league 1 with Graham Kavanagh in charge. We got off to a terrible start and Kavanagh eventually getting the sack on September 1st after 5-0 hammering by Cambridge. We then brought in Keith Curle who job was to consolidate us in league 2 and make sure we stay up being the most important thing to the fans.

HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?

Yes Keith has brought in some very experienced players around these leagues. One being Jason Kennedy who we had on a loan spell at the end of last season. He was fantastic in the loan spell and I know a lot of fans will be happy we got him back permanently.Luke Joyce being another player brought in for his 2nd spell at Carlisle very experienced and probably the type of player we were ,missing last year. Keith curle has strengthened the strike force as well as the defence.and got rid of a lot of players who were not needed anymore. Overall Keith Curle has brought in his own players so now its his time to shine.

ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?

I think we need another winger as I think with Angelo Balanta and Patrick Brough being our 2 main wingers if they get an injury through the season we are then looking to play someone out of position.

ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

As a Carlisle fan you always look forward to the closest away game being Hartlepool. Normally sell out and its considered a bit of a derby match between the two sides.Another away trip we travel well to is Morecambe being closer than a lot of fixtures. Me personally one of my favourites its Notts county away always look forward to going down there.

WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?

Portsmouth- With signings they have made and an appointment of a very good manager you can't look past them for the league.

WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?

Patrick Brough- A very good left after the experience he must of gained last season am hoping he kicks on and has a really good season. Charlie Wyke - His goals probably kept Carlisle up in the end. And with him setting a personal target of 20 goals this season if he gets off yo a good start could potentially be up there for top goalscorer come the end of the season.

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

Play-offs If we can make Brunton Park a fortress again and become hard to beat we can potentially do a lot of damage in this league. As always its all about getting off to a good start.
