The 48 year old managed the club in the early 2000s and says he is thrilled to have been handed the reigns for a second time, "When you talk about Christmas presents, what a fantastic one this is for me."

Mick Wadsworth was relieved of his duties at Hartlepool earlier this month after a poor run of form.
