CARDIFF CITY: WHITTINGHAM BID REJECTED

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has revealed that the club have turned down a bid from league rivals West Ham for Peter Whittingham.

The Hammers have long admired the midfielder but Mackay insists his much coveted man is not for sale, "I'm here to improve this football club, and bring players into the club. Not sell them."

27 year old Whittingham agreed a long term contract with the Bluebirds in the summer and has recently expressed a desire to remain at the club.
