John Greig and John McClelland have stepped down from their roles as non-executive directors at Rangers.
The news comes just days after the appointment of Craig Whyte as the new chairman at the club and it is this development that is understood to have persuaded the duo to leave.
A statement released on behalf of both Greig and McClelland read, "These resignations have been communicated by letter to the chairman, Craig Whyte. Both were of the opinion that since the change of ownership they have been excluded from participating in corporate governance at the club."
Greig is a former Rangers player while McClelland was chairman at the club for two years in the early 2000s.
