Port Vale midfielder Rob Taylor could miss the League Two fixture with Northampton Town on Friday after being struck down with a virus.
Mark Grew, Vale's assistant boss, explained how on loan defender Rob Kozluk had also been suffering from a sickness bug during the week, forcing him to miss the weekend's clash with Gillingham.
"Rob [Taylor] was poorly at half time on Saturday, but played on. Maybe it would have been better to take him off then, but hindsight is a lovely thing. He didn't train yesterday and he's suffering from sickness and diarrhoea."
"As we're playing on Friday, we kept him away yesterday as we don't want him to bring the bug to the ground. Rob had a rough weekend, and even if he comes back we have to be mindful that a virus can take a lot out of your body, so we'll have to monitor him."
Kozluk is expected to make a return for Vale today in their reserves game with Walsall.
