The 36 year old, who made his debut for the Seagulls in their 1-0 defeat to West Ham last night, says he is relishing the challenge, "There had been a few clubs in contact and I see it as an exciting opportunity, and there's obviously a fantastic set up down here."
Harper has been with Newcastle for sixteen years but has enjoyed short term spells out on loan with a series of clubs including, Bradford City, Gateshead, Hartlepool and Huddersfield Town.
