The 19 year old sustained a broken ankle in the summer and City boss Chris Hughton is pleased with the progress he is making.
"We are looking at the next international break. So once we get through this period of seven games, we're hoping he will be available. That would be a big plus for us. He's a player who started the season well, was perhaps as good as anybody in the pre-season period."
Mutch made two appearances for City before injury forced him onto the sidelines. He had been looking to secure a place in the first team for the duration of the season after having a series of loan spells away from the club.
