Former Notts County striker Njogu Demba-Nyren is currently training with Gillingham in the hope of securing a contract with the Kent based club.
The 32 year old was recommended to Andy Hessenthaler's side and the manager is keen to see him in match action before making a firm decision on his future.
"He's been training with us and we'll have a look at him. It came from an agent who asked us to have a look at him. In training he's looked okay but you never really know until you see them in a real match."
Demba-Nyren started his career at Swedish side Falu BS where he scored twenty three goals in thirty one appearances, he then played his way around Europe, turning out for teams in Greece, Bulgaria, Denmark and Norway, before ending up with League One side Notts County last season.
