Sorley joined the club in 2009 but struggled to out-muscle a series of 'keepers bought in on loan by manager John Coughlin.
Speaking to the club's official website Coughlin said, "A change in Gavin's working circumstances has made it more difficult for him to get to the club for training and that has resulted in him asking to leave. We would like to wish him well in the future."
