The 23 year old only agreed a new deal with the Rams at the end of August but reports in the press have suggested that the Baggies are preparing a bid to take the former Crewe man to the Hawthorns.
"We are looking to build with young players throughout the squad and John is part of that." Clough insisted.
Brayford has been an ever-present for County this season.
