CHESTERFIELD FC: CLARKE SET FOR SPIREITES?

Swindon Town striker Leon Clarke is understood to be in the process of finalising a deal to move to Chesterfield.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and QPR forward only signed with Paolo Di Canio's side last month, but the pair had a very public spat after the Carling Cup game against Southampton on August 30th, prompting Swindon's chairman to say he would never feature for the Wiltshire side again.

"It's in the best interests of everyone if we find Leon another club to go to." Jeremy Wray stated, the day after Di Canio and Clarke came to blows on the pitch.

BBC Wiltshire believe Chesterfield have made an approach for the striker and a deal should go through when the loan window reopens.
