CHESTER CITY FC: WILDE CLOSER TO A RETURN

Chester striker Michael Wilde is on course for a return to the first team in four weeks.

The 28 year old suffered a fractured collarbone during pre season action and has been discussing his recovery, "My rehab is going really well and I'm starting to feel like I'm making some kind of progress."

The former TNS man scored an impressive 36 goals in 43 appearances for the Evo Stik Premier side last term and is itching to get back on the pitch, "My aim now is to get onto the training field with the lads in the next couple of weeks and get some physical contact on the pitch, which my shoulder needs."

Wilde knows it will be tough for him to walk straight back into the side once he regains full fitness, "Chris Simm was tremendous against FC United and Matty McNeil has been finding the target. Then you've got Jamie Rainford and Mark Reed as well who are both proven goalscorers at this level."

Chester face Ashton United on Wednesday evening.
