SCUNTHORPE UNITED FC: TRIBUNAL AGREES RYAN FEE

Scunthorpe United will have to fork out an initial £55,000 for Jimmy Ryan who joined them from Accrington Stanley in the summer.

A tribunal set the fee this week, also adding that the amount could increase to £170,000 providing certain criteria is met.

Despite wishing their former midfielder luck at his new home, Accrington Stanley chief executive Rob Heys was disappointed in the tribunal's ruling, "If we're honest we would have liked to have received more. But I'm sure Scunthorpe would have wanted to pay less."

The Iron's general manager David Beeby said, "I don't think either party leaves a tribunal entirely happy because they normally set a figure between what has been offered and what the selling club is asking. The good thing is that the fee has now been set and the two clubs and the player can move on."

Ryan made over 100 appearances for Stanley over three years, he's started five games this season for Scunthorpe.
