Cambridge United manager Jez George has revealed the club are awaiting a suitable approach for striker Conal Platt.
The 24 year old has been attracting interest from fellow Blue Square Premier sides; Kidderminster Harriers, Forest Green Rovers and Newport County. But George insists an acceptable offer has yet to come in for the player.
"We just need them to get somewhere close to his wages, but talks are ongoing through this. Conal was not one of the top earners in the squad last year, but he has now become that, following the wage cuts. If you're one of the top earners in the club, you have to be one of the most influential players in every game in the first 11 rather than being on the periphery of it."
Platt, a former Bournemouth, Weymouth and Rushden & Diamonds player, has scored two goals in five apprances this season but has seen his first team opportunities limited since the arrival of Peter Winn on loan from Stevenage.
