In an interview with BBC Sussex the Uruguyan said managing his country was something he had contemplated in the past, "I'd love to manage, for example, my country. But before getting there I have to manage a top class, high division club."
Poyet, a midfielder in his playing days, featured twenty six times for Uruguay scoring three goals.
