OXFORD UNITED: CONSTABLE REJECTS TRANSFER TALK

James Constable has dismissed recent reports that is is unhappy at Oxford United and is looking for a move away from the Kassam Stadium.

The 26 year old has been the subject of rumours linking him with Swindon Town but Oxford chairman Kelvin Thomas knows how important a player the striker is for his side, "We've turned down offers for James and Sunday showed why, he's a big player for us."

Constable has enjoyed a prolific few years whilst playing with Oxford United. He initially joined the club on loan from Shrewsbury Town, scoring 23 goals in 42 appearances, before signing a permanent deal with them in 2009. He looks to be continuing his good form for the side this season too, scoring 2 in their opening four league fixtures.
