Gainsborough Trinity have sacked their managed of two years Brian Little.
Speaking after the decision was made public Trinity chairman Peter Swann said, "I don't know if there's any good time to make a sacking. But you give yourself a better chance if, when things aren't going right, you make it early."
Gainsborough had made a poor start to the new Blue Square North season, they currently reside in 17th position after winning just one of their opening fixtures, conceding 8 goals along the way.
Former Aston Villa, Stoke City and Leicester City manager Little oversaw a disappointing finish for Trinity last season, they ended up in 18th position.
It is understood that Peter Swann will take temporary charge of first team affairs as Gainsborough search for a new manager.
