Bradford City manager Peter Jackson has decided to end his reign at the Yorkshire club.
The Bantams had made a dismal start to their League Two campaign, taking just one point after a draw with Oxford United.
A statement on the clubs official website read, "At a club meeting today, the football club can confirm that first team manager Peter Jackson has tendered his resignation. This was duly accepted by the board."
It continued, "Peter told the board that in light of the poor start to the season, he felt to resign now would give the club that best possible chance for the rest of the season."
City have drawn up a list of three managers that they hope to speak with about the vacancy. Names currently being discussed on fans forums and message boards include Kevin Blackwell, Ronnie Moore, Phil Parkinson and John Still.
Assistant manager Colin Cooper will take charge of Bradford's match against Barnet on Saturday.
