SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY: OWLS' 'KEEPER OUT FOR THREE MONTHS

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the news that goalkeeper Nicky Weaver will miss three months of action after undergoing surgery on his injured knee.

Owls' boss Gary Megson was disappointed at the news but feels he has adequate cover in the form of Richard O'Donnell.

"The news on Nicky is not good, but it's nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Richard has done very well for us, the save he made on Saturday from the lad Bowditch when it was 2-1 was fantastic."

Weaver started the season as the Yorkshire side's number one but O'Donnell has deputised between the sticks for the last three league matches.
