Welling United supporter Mark gave us an insight into his thoughts ahead of the new campaign.
It was an interesting season. Three different managers meant there were lots of ups and downs. At one point, Welling looked doomed but ultimate survival meant a great end of season celebration.
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
There have been a number of new signings, and some look very good on paper. Hopefully, they will settle quickly. Team spirit appears excellent.
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
My slight concern is the youthfulness of the team. Another experienced head could go a long way.
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Home to Tranmere Rovers. It's live on BT Sports and there was a fantastic atmosphere at last season's televised game at Park View Road.
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
Hopefully, it will be an open league. There are a number of clubs that have ambitions to win promotion and it may not be the most obvious ones who succeed.
WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?
Several young players have the talent to progress if they believe in themselves and work hard. I'm surprised that no league club has taken a chance on Barney Williams yet, and I think this could be a big year for Sam Corne.
WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
Some pundits have predicted relegation for Welling United but I fancy the team can prove them wrong. A position of safety, gained early enough not to cause stress, combined with a good F.A. Cup run, and I'll be happy.
