FAN'S VIEW: GUISELEY AFC SEASON PREVIEW

We picked Adam's brain about the upcoming season & Guiseley's prospects.

HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?

I think it was the strangest season in terms of the quality of football we played. We didn't have many games where I came away and thought we played really well today. We managed to hang on to our play off place and the rest is history. We did have a very small squad last year and were often down to the bare bones due to injuries and suspensions. The promotion was fantastic, it was what we deserved for our 4 other play off heartbreaks and our superb performance in the second half of the match, the best day in my 10+ years of supporting Guiseley AFC

HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?

Yes we have made some good signings along with keeping hold of most of the squad who got us promoted last season. Will Hatfield has looked brilliant in pre-season and Adam Lockwood has slotted back into the team like he was never away. Rob Atkinson looks a good CB too and Tom Craddock has a good pedigree and has put in a couple of impressive pre-season displays. Jake Charles is highly rated by Huddersfield, who we have signed him from on loan.

ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?

Yes I feel we could do with another creative midfielder as we are a bit short on those as well as another keeper, we only have one signed up at the moment. If he gets injured our goalkeeping coach is registered to play.

ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

I am looking forward to going to grounds I have never visited and Tranmere looks like a nice ground to visit. Lincoln is another one but the home games against these bigger teams should also be good as I am sure our ground will be at full capacity for those matches.

WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?

I think Grimsby will do well with the money they have to sign players and they have kept most of the squad who came so close for them last year but also Eastleigh and Forest Green could be up there.

WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?

I think Will Hatfield and Adam Boyes will be the ones to watch, Will is a central midfielder who likes to be on the ball and covers some distance when he plays. Adam is our main attacking threat with some help from Tom Craddock up top too. Oli Johnson when fit can cause problems for any team also.

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

I would take safety for the season ahead but I think we will end up mid table somewhere, us being part time is obviously is a disadvantage in terms of fitness for the players.
