FAN'S VIEW: CARDIFF CITY SEASON PREVIEW

We picked the brain of Cardiff City fan Jon about the upcoming campaign for his beloved Bluebirds.

HOW DID YOU FEEL THE 14/15 SEASON WENT FOR YOUR TEAM?

I think it could have gone much better. It was a shame we had to lose Ole, but his plans did not have a positive impact on the team and we just ended up with more players than we knew what to do with.

Slade has needed time (and rightly so) to get his players and back room in order. I don't think he deserved all the stick he was getting from lot of our fans (who, to be honest, never seem happy at the best of times) but I think he did what he could. I'm certainly glad he kept us from sliding back down to league 1. The highlight has to be returning to blue in October. We had great news that it would be happening but even better for the league and other teams in the championship to let us change our home colours mid season

HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?

I think we've done well, actually. We're working on a budget and trying to shift some of the huge debt we got ourselves into. I think a well balanced team or lower priced players who are willing to put their work in on the pitch will definitely be better than the lacklustre "stars" we had in our premier league season.

ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?

We're looking more solid as we go on and the main area I think we need to really get some focus into now is creativity. 

ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

Every game of the season. There's not one which is unimportant.

WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?

I have a bit of a soft spot for the MK Dons, but then I love an underdog. 

WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?

Marshall, if he stays, will remain a top class keeper and I think Doyle,  Malone and Revell joined well at the end of last season. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do after some time with the team. We've got some new signings as well that may look good on paper, but I always wait until I've seen their work rate on the pitch

WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'LL END UP AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

I am hoping for play-offs. I think auto promotion might be a bit too much but I think we can get to the play-offs this year at least.
