Andy came to our aid when we were looking for a Canvey Island fan to offer their thoughts on the upcoming campaign.
I felt that 2014/15 season went quite bad at the end after a positive start to the season. But I was relieved at the end when we avoided relegation after a win on the last day at home to Wingate & Finchley!
HAVE YOU BEEN IMPRESSED WITH THE ADDITIONS MADE DURING THE SUMMER BREAK?
I have been extremely impressed by the signings of Tambeson Eyong from Margate and Glenn Poole from Billericay Town. Also I feel that adding Junior Lewis to our coaching staff is quite massive for us! I have been impressed by Martin Touhy who joined from AFC Hornchurch and he is already scoring the goals in pre-season for us!
ARE THERE ANY AREAS YOU FEEL STILL NEED STRENGTHENING?
I feel that we could still do with a few wingers (since Jack Simmons left and only Marlon Agyawka is left). I do feel that we need an attacker or attacking midfielder to help support our new attacker Laurence Yiga!
ARE THERE ANY FIXTURES THAT YOU'RE PARTICULARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?
I am looking forward to the Billericay Town games (because we've signed a few of their players) along with the last week in October when we make the trip to Leiston on the Wednesday night and then the trip to Needham Market on the Saturday for the FA Trophy (whilst my dad goes to Stamford bridge to see Chelsea vs Liverpool). I am also looking forward to Burgess Hill and Bognor Regis away (because I've been down south to see a game). And I cannot wait to go Lewes! (Since I've heard good reports about their stadium).
WHICH OPPOSITION TEAM DO YOU HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SEASON?
I have high hopes for Enfield Town (following what they went through at the end of the season) and I hope that Hendon do rather well (as I feel they can build on from their play-off final defeat to Margate). And I hope to look out for Billericay to build on from last season like Grays!
WHICH PLAYERS AMONG YOUR SQUAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR THIS TERM?
I feel that Glenn Poole could be a danger man when it comes to corners whilst I feel that Tambeson Eyong, Jay Curran, Steve Sheehan and Jake Larkins have a lot to show! I also have a good feeling that Martin Touhy could really help our strike power a lot.
I like to think that we can end up in a play-off place, that is if we work our hardest. But I'd like to see us end up in 4th or 5th place despite our local paper suggesting that we can end up in 8th!
