BARNSLEY FC: BUTTERFIELD OUT FOR SEASON

Barnsley midfielder Jacob Butterfield will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining damage to his knee in their clash with Leeds last week.

The 21 year old, the subject of recent Premier League interest, is expected to undergo surgery in the next few days on his anterior cruciate ligament ruling him out of action until the summer.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield manager Keith Hill expressed his disappointment at the news, "It's really sad. He's been absolutely superb for us. His season has been brought to an abrupt end when he was in such a strong position."

Butterfield has featured 25 times for the South Yorkshire club this season, scoring five goals.
