19 year old Watson failed to make a first team appearance for Forest since graduating from the youth team. He struggled with an ankle injury last year which forced him onto the sidelines for the duration of the season.
Byrne, a central defender, accompanied the senior squad on their pre-season trip to Portugal but again failed to make a league appearance for Forest.
