The 20 year old's current spell with Dundee United expires in mid-January and Houston looks set to open talks with the Premier League side about a longer deal.
"I haven't spoken to the boy or Fulham. I'd like to keep him to the end of the season. He's got a great attitude, he's a wee bit unfortunate that Daly and Russell are starting to score goals, so he's not getting a starting position just now."
"I still like him enough that I'd keep him until the end of the season," he added.
Dalla Valle has scored three times in thirteen appearances for the Terrors this season.
