The 19 year old, comfortable either in defence or midfield, made his debut for the Blues against Elgin City, helping his new side to a 1-0 victory.
Taggart has made only a handful of appearances for his parent club Hibernian, but manager Colin Calderwood holds the youngster in high regard.
He enjoyed a similar loan spell with Ayr United last season.
