Dundalk are still being chased by the town council for fees thought to be in the region of €430,000.
The money, owed following the building of a Youth Development Centre at Oriel Park, is a sticking point for the Dundalk FC Trust who have tabled an offer to current owner Gerry Matthews to purchase the club.
Matthews had hinted recently that he is looking to sell the club and the Trust are, as yet, the only group who have taken an interest.
According to local newspaper The Argus, Dundalk Town Council insist the outstanding fees will not be reduced but that there is a possibility of them being paid over a prolonged period of time.
