Southampton striker Lee Barnard saw his trial for assault postponed yesterday, with the possibility of it not being re-scheduled until March 2012.
The 27 year old was arrested in October last year after an incident at a Bar in Southampton where he is alleged to have attacked a man and left him with facial injuries.
The trial at Salisbury Crown Court was abandoned yesterday with a short comment from Recorder Malcoln overseeing the case, "The case unfortunately cannot be tried today. You are therefore granted bail until March."
Barnard has yet to make an appearance for the Saints the season as he is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the latter part of the previous season.
