Chris Neal has vowed to fight for the number one spot at Shrewsbury Town after returning to the first team in their clash with Barnet at the weekend.
Manager Graham Turner switched goalkeepers ahead of the match, leaving Ben Smith on the substitute's bench after he conceded 3 goals in the defeat to Southend the previous week.
Neal is determined to keep his place in the starting lineup, "I'm over the moon to be back in. I wanted to prove to the manager I could be back in the team and he has shown some faith in me."
Saturday's clash with Barnet was the 25 year old's first start of the season for Shrewsbury and he admits to have found it difficult to motivate himself sitting on the sidelines week in, week out.
"It has been very hard, both being left out last season around xmas and not playing at the start of this season. I love being at the club but it's a real blow when you're not playing."
