The 20 year old had graduated through the youth ranks at Hillsborough but has today had his contract terminated by mutual consent. He spent five months on loan with Darlington last season but failed to make any real impact on the Sheffield Wednesday first team.
The Owls have also allowed their on loan striker David McGoldrick to return to his parent club Nottingham Forest.
The 23 year old moved to the League One club on a one month loan deal and made four appearances, scoring once.
