ROCHDALE FC: EYRE KEEN FOR BALL RETURN

He was recalled by his parent club last week and discussed his desire to break into the first team there, but Rochdale boss Steve Eyre says he would jump at the chance to have David Ball back amongst his squad.

The 21 year old spent a month with the Dale, scoring four goals in eight appearances, before being recalled by Darren Ferguson, and Eyre is keen to try and bring him back to Spotland.

"If we get the opportunity to bring David Ball back here we will jump at that chance. I've made no secret of the fact I am waiting to see what the situation is with David at Peterborough."

Ball spoke to the BBC last week. He said he was confident in his ability to force his way into the Posh starting line up, "I'm back and now I want to play for Peterborough. I've proved that if you give me a run of games then I will score goals on a regular basis."
