Brighton & Hove Albion's Managing Director, Ken Brown, has reacted to allegations made last week that fans of the club directed racist chants towards Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy.
Following the allegation, made by a fan watching the match on television at home, it was found that no such remarks were made, with the Football Association saying the club have 'no case to answer'.
Brown said he had no doubt the club would be exonerated, "It is very sad that the club's reputation and that of it's supporters have been tarnished in this way."
"It has been our belief ever since this allegation was made, that it was totally unfounded, as neither Brighton & Hove Albion or our supporters accept racism. It appears the popular and innocent chant of 'Seasiders' was misheard by the viewer."
