PLYMOUTH ARGYLE: GROUND SHARE FOR ARGYLE?

Rugby Union side Cornish Pirates are in discussions with Plymouth Argyle about the possibility of sharing Home Park.

The Pirates' current ground is not up to the standards asked for by the Aviva Premiership and their closest neighbours are the Pilgrims. Chief Executive at the RFU side, Rod Coward, said, "Whilst we've explored every possibility, the closest ground to Cornwall which is compliant with the regulations is Home Park."

As it currently stands, if the Pirates are promoted to the Premiership they will be refused permission to enter into the league because of concerns over their current ground.

"If we did not nominate a temporary ground and if a stadium were not delivered for September 2012 it would mean we could not play in the Premiership next season. What we're doing is trying to achieve Premiership rugby in Cornwall and to not nominate a temporary ground would effectively disqualify us from that ambition."
