NOTTINGHAM FOREST: CHAMBERS DISCUSSES MCCLAREN DEPARTURE

Nottingham Forest defender Luke Chambers has spoke of the resignation of manager Steve McClaren at the weekend.

The skipper reveals he was 'shocked into silence' following the announcement of McClaren's departure and that of Chairman Nigel Doughty.

"I didn't feel I would be talking about issues like this in my first season as captain of the club. What has happened over the last 24 hours is very disappointing and it's difficult to express how I feel."

In an interview with Forest's official website, Chambers spoke in support of the outgoing manager and admitted the team must shoulder some of the blame.

"The lads feel as though we've let the gaffer down a little bit because we haven't performed to the standards we set ourselves over the last few years. We're an honest bunch and would definitely hold out hands up and say we haven't been at the top of our game."

Rumours are circulating about the vancant managerial post at the City Ground. Names currently in the mix are Darren Ferguson, Martin Allen and Alan Shearer.
