The 27 year old is understood to have impressed Mowbray on trial this week, scoring twice in a friendly game against Premier League opposition.
"He's out of contract, he's somebody who's been here a few days, he's played a development game at Blackburn last week. If anything does get done we need to put it into context, he's a free transfer, an out of contract footballer who has no job."
Ogbeche was most recently with Greek side Kavala FC.
