COVENTRY CITY: CRANIE OUT FOR A MONTH

Coventry City defender Martin Cranie has been ruled out for a month after tests revealed he had sustained fractured ribs.

The centre back was initially believed to have suffered bad bruising, but now joins the long list of players on the sidelines at the Ricoh Arena.

The 25 year had been an ever present before damaging his ribs and manager Andy Thorn could do with his experience at the back as the Sky Blues look to arrest a run of poor form, "It's disappointing because it means he's going to be out for a while."

Thorn already has concerns over the fitness of Sammy Clingan, Roy O'Donovan, Joe Murphy and Gary McSheffrey ahead of their league clash with Nottingham Forest at the weekend, and revealed recently that he was looking for loan cover to plug the gaps.
