Discussing the decision to accept the winger's request and place him on the transfer list Flitcroft said, "Shelton approached me several weeks ago and asked for a move for personal reasons. It appears he wants to move back to Wales so I've reluctantly agreed to put him on the transfer list."
The winger's name will now be circulated to clubs.
