BURSCOUGH FC: GOULDING KEEN TO SHORE UP DEFENCE

Derek Goulding has pinpointed Burscough's defensive frailties as their major failing this season.

The Evo Stik Northern Premier side are currently rooted to the foot of the table after conceding 39 goals in just thirteen games but Goulding believes shoring up the defence and producing more clean sheets is the key.

"Our defending has been a lot better of late. We were disappointed not to keep a clean sheet against Daisy Hill, all in all it is a lot more positive. We are scoring goals, and we know that we can score goals, which always gives us a chance in games."

"Our defending has been letting us down too often. If we can change that, then we will be a lot better off."

Burscough travel to South Yorkshire on Saturday to face Stocksbridge Park Steels.
