West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that the club turned down a last minute bid from Turkish side Galatasaray for striker Carlton Cole during the transfer window.
Allardyce slammed the way teams in other countries are allowed a number of days after the English transfer window closes to attempt to poach their best players.
"I don't want to detract too much from the result we've had against Portsmouth because Carlton Cole's played a major part in that, but this ridiculous opportunity for other countries to be allowed an extra few days is beyond belief for me."
The transfer window for English clubs closed on August 31st this year, Turkish clubs had an extra five days with their window closing on September 5th.
