Southport striker Steve Daly has retired from football following discussions with manager Liam Watson.
"Steve knows the commitment I am demanding and feels for a number of reasons he cannot give the club the time required. I respect Steve for that and we have amicably decided to part."
28 year old Daly has topped the scoring charts at Southport for the last two seasons. His departure and that of Matty McGinn yesterday has prompted Watson to admit he may have to delve into the transfer market.
