QUEEN OF THE SOUTH FC: MCCUSKER CLOSE TO RETURN

Marc McCusker, a summer signing for Scottish First Division side Queen of the South, has stepped up his comeback bid after coming through a full training session for the first time since signing the club.

The 22 year old, whose form of 11 goals in 21 games prompted Doonhamers boss Gus MacPherson to snap him up in July, has been struggling with a groin injury since moving to Palmerston Park.

MacPherson was happy to have the striker back in training, "Marc has been working hard to get there and we are looking forward to him having a full week of training behind him."
