The 18 year old has joined the Magpies on an initial one month loan deal and is expected to feature in their game away at Basingstoke at the weekend.
Tallack is held in high regard by the staff at Portsmouth and featured in their friendly matches during August. He started their match last month against Spainish side, Real Betis, a game that ended in defeat for Pompey
Ashley Vickers, the Magpies manager, said, "Our chairman Shaun Hearn has good contacts at Portsmouth and Lewis is meant to have a bright future."
