Steve McClaren has praised the commitment shown by defender Luke Chambers before their clash with Newcastle in the Carling Cup last night.
Chambers' girlfriend gave birth to their first child just before kick off last night but the centre back made it to the game in time to feature on the bench, something McClaren says epitomises his club captain's spirit.
"What fantastic commitment on Luke's part. Becoming a father must have been the proudest moment of his life but he felt he still had a job to do and a team to support. He quite willingly came and sat on the bench and wanted to play."
The game last night ended in a 3-4 reverse for Forest, but they put up a good fight, taking the Premier League side into extra time.
