NEWPORT COUNTY: HUDSON APOLOGISES FOR THUMPING

Anthony Hudson has offered an apology to fans of his Newport County side who had to sit through the 5-0 defeat to Mansfield on Saturday.

Speaking after County's fourth consecutive loss of the season Hudson said he shared the disappointment of the fans and was sorry for the performance.

"That wasn't an acceptable performance, the players know that and I have told them that. We must stand strong and stick together but our supporters paid good money, travelled a long way and deserved much better than that."

Newport travel to Braintree Town on Saturday.
